What is LARP and what does it stand for?

LARP stands for Live Action Role Playing. LARP is a system that brings people together in order to create, imagine, and play out their own fantasy-like characters. Players can decide to become elves, mages, knights, or animals of the land. They can then build their characters to be who and what they wish them to become. Are they good? Bad? Magical, or strong of will? All of this is up to them to decide. Usually participants include college students and adults, but for Kid's LARP camp it is all about the kids, and all about the fun.

How will the Kid's LARP Camp work?

Camp McFadden is partnering with Heroic Interactive Theatre to provide the best and most fun LARP camp for our campers. We are planning an adventure where our campers will be able to create their own characters, build their own "weapons" or boffers, and fight the enemy. Your camper will be able to participate in an imaginative world where almost anything is possible and their own imagination is the limit.  LARP camp will give campers an escape from the real world and let them use their imagination to the fullest. Campers will be given the opportunity to interact in a social manner that is free of judgment. The most important aspect of LARP camp besides safety is acceptance. Camp McFadden’s first summer of LARP Camp is expected to surpass all expectations and is more than a play time for children. What will my camper do at Kid's LARP Camp?

Campers will be able to participate in a variety of activities during their stay at camp. All activities will be available as a way for each camper to build their character in the way the see fit.
