Both the High and Low Ropes Courses have been certified and booked several times.
Reclaimed the Lodge and Cabins. Were all rented last year. Almost every weekend was booked in 2006 by large groups, such as family reunions.

Trails have been re-cut, cleared, and marked. Cleared trees so the lake can be seen. The gate area was cleared. Now have weekly trash collection - June 06 Created a map of the property and the Corps leased land showing structures, trails, Corps lease, and utilities. Hired a Camp Host.
Miscellaneous: Have gotten rid of the debt. The Corps lease was finalized. Obtained our own 501(c)3 status.
No hunting signs were posted for the safety of our visitors. Installed 2 small culverts in low areas of roads to prevent water standing which causes ruts. Removed dirt in a creek bed blocking culverts and added rip rap to prevent the main road from washing out. The corral area was cleared and the tractor can now be parked in the horse barn - March 06 Scrap metal was gathered from around the barn and sold - March 06 A standard date was established for work days at the camp. The board meeting is the second Tuesday of the month at Head Country restaurant. The workday is the following Saturday.
We are raising funds for the projects to upgrade the camp even more. Currently selling bricks and stones for a memorial plaza around the flagpole at the camp. Had two garage sales. Submitted our first grant request to Balance Bar company. While it was unsuccessful, a lot was learned about the process. A Peel grant has been submitted.
This was not done without contributions of time and money from caring individuals. If you can help by donating a little of your time, a few dollars, or items you no longer need or use, please let us know. Call 580-762-9955 now. |
